Surface-Fit Poly/Ratl Equations¶
This option begins TableCurve 3D's Automated Surface-Fit Processing and fits all polynomial and rational equations, and also any installed UDFs. To assure that all polynomials and rationals are added to the list, the Keep Per Term Count Per Fn(Z) option in the Surface-Fit Preferences dialog should be set to at least 68 and the Highest Term Count to be Fitted option should be set to 66, the coefficient maximum.
The basic polynomials consist of 243 basic equations based upon X, ln(X), 1/X, Y, ln(Y), and 1/Y. These consist of 225 non-interactive equations, and 18 Taylor polynomials which include X-Y interaction terms.
The specialty polynomials include 36 Chebyshev models through tenth order bivariate, 9 simple Fourier models, 4 Fourier bivariate models, 9 cosine series models, and 9 sigmoid series models. Regardless of the Keep Per Term Count Per Fn(Z) setting, these models are always added to the equation list.
The total polynomial set consists of 310 equations.
The basic rationals consist of 260 total equations based upon X, ln(X), Y. and ln(Y), 4 of which contain Taylor series numerators and denominators. All rational equations, by their very nature, model X-Y interactions.
Also included are 40 Chebyshev rationals. Regardless of the Keep Per Term Count Per Fn(Z) setting, these models are always added to the equation list.
The total rational set consists of 300 equations.
Fit Controls¶
The linear fitting controls for this fitting option are set in the Surface-Fit Preferences procedure.
