Main Graph¶
The upper right tri-pane window in TableCurve 3D displays a surface graph of the object currently selected in the TableCurve 3D Explorer object hierarchy.
Native Data Item¶
The program's basic XYZ data objects are displayed using the current settings in the View Data Graph option This renders the data as a surface graph using the Renka I interpolant.
Clicking on the graph opens the View Data Graph option.
View Items¶
These XYZ objects are always children of native data items created via the View Data Graph option. The surface graph reflects the specific graph settings and customizations at the time it was added to the notebook or updated.
Clicking on the graph opens the View Data Graph option. The Update button in the View Data Graph option replaces the current content of the view item with any revisions in the graph settings.
Section Items¶
These XYZ objects are children of other XYZ objects, and are created via the Section Data option. A sectioned object contains the active or inactive state of each point in the data set as well as the graph settings in place at the time the section object was added to the notebook or updated. The graph will reflect the active points. A section object will typically contain fewer points than the parent.
Clicking on the graph opens the Section Data option.
Calculation Items¶
These XYZ objects are children of the parent XYZ data upon which a calculation or data transform has been applied. The graph reflects the surface produced by the transform as well as any graph modifications made in the Undo graph furnished to assess the result of the calculation.
Clicking on the graph opens the Enter Calculation option.
Smooth Loess Items¶
These are XYZ objects resulting from Loess smoothing of any XYZ object. The graph will show the parent (unsmoothed) data and the smoothed surface generated from the smoothed data as well as the graph settings in place at the time the smoothing was added to the notebook or updated.
Clicking on the graph opens the Smooth Loess option.
Smooth NURBS Items¶
These are also XYZ objects resulting from the smoothing of any XYZ object. Here the smoothing object is created by the Smooth NURBS option. The graph will show the parent (unsmoothed) data and the surface generated from the NURBS as well as the graph settings in place at the time the NURBS object was added to the notebook or updated.
Clicking on the graph opens the Smooth NURBS option.
Fill Sparse Grid Items¶
These XYZ objects are children of other XYZ objects which contain missing values or data scattered in the XY plane. These objects contain more points than the parent data. The graph will reflect the interpolated XYZ gridded data as well as the graph settings in place at the time the Fill Sparse Grid object was added to the notebook or updated.
Clicking on the graph opens the Fill Sparse Grid option
Interpolate to Uniform Grid Items¶
These interpolated XYZ objects are children of any other XYZ objects. These objects contain a user-specified grid density. The graph will reflect the interpolated XYZ gridded data as well as the graph settings in place at the time the Interpolate to Uniform Grid object was added to the notebook or updated.
Clicking on the graph opens the Interpolate to Uniform Grid option.
Estimate Gridded Data Items¶
These are output objects that are children of XYZ objects. The graph will reflect the continuous interpolated or smoothed surface from the Estimate Gridded Data option as well as the graph settings in place at the time the gridded non-parametric fit object was added to the notebook or updated. These include the partial derivative settings.
Clicking on the graph opens the Estimate Gridded Data option.
Estimate Scattered Data Items¶
These are likewise output objects that are children of XYZ objects. The graph will reflect the continuous interpolated or smoothed surface from the Estimate Scattered Data option as well as the graph settings in place at the time the scattered non-parametric fit object was added to the notebook or updated. These include the partial derivative settings.
Clicking on the graph opens the Estimate Gridded Data option.
Graph Start Surface Fit Items¶
These are the main output objects in TableCurve 3D and always children of XYZ objects. The graph will reflect the continuous fitted surface for the selected equation in the Surface-Fit Review and also all graph settings in place at the time the parametric fit object was added to the notebook or updated. These include the confidence and prediction interval as well as partial derivative settings.
Clicking on the graph refits the data with the fit preferences and equation set in place at the time of the previous processing. The equation list will reproduce the previous one, provided the target data is unchanged. The Surface-Fit Review is automatically opened using the Graph Start Review settings.
List Start Surface Fit Items¶
This is the alternative surface fit output object in TableCurve 3D.
Clicking on the graph refits the data and automatically opens the Surface-Fit Review using the List Start Review settings.
Animation¶
The graph in the main window can be animated for better visualization of surfaces.
