TCEX.DLL Functions

TableCurve 2D supports the inclusion of external C-language or Fortran language functions within its equation set. These are known as TCEX.DLL functions, since the implementation requires these functions exist within a DLL named TCEX, and that a specific format be followed.

TableCurve 2D provide a C-language template TCEX.C for use with Microsoft Visual C++ and Borland C++. The Fortran language template is in TCEX.F90 and requires Microsoft/DEC Fortran Powerstation. These two templates contain extensive instructions for implementing the functions and preparing the DLL.

TCEX.DLL must be present in the TableCurve 2D distribution directory at the time the program is loaded. If it is detected, the various functions contained within it are added to TC2D's function set. These equations will begin at Equation # 9001 and can range up to Equation #9100. You may thus have up to 100 TCEX.DLL functions.

The Process menu will contain a TCEX.DLL Functions item only if one or more functions were successfully detected at the time of startup.

You have an option of disabling all of the functions, enabling all of them, or selecting only those desired for fitting. Use the standard Windows procedure for selecting multiple items in the selection list (holding mouse down and moving through list to highlight multiple items, using Shift key with second selection to create a band between this and the first selection, or using the Control key to append individual selections).

Fit Controls

The non-linear fitting controls applicable to TCEX.DLL functions can be accessed via the Options button. This opens the Curve Fit Preferences option.

Fitting the TCEX.DLL functions

All of TableCurve 2D's fitting options automatically include the TCEX.DLL functions that are currently enabled.

Note that if the TCEX.DLL functions are fit with the Peak, Transition, or Kinetic models, the custom preferences for these fitting options will override the general preferences.
