Curve-Fit Robust Straight Line

 This option begins TableCurve's Automated Curve-Fit Processing and fits a simple straight line equation by all four of the Minimization Criteria available within TableCurve's non-linear fitting engine. This option also fits all installed UDFs, and all active TCEX.DLL equations. Note that the standard least-squares minimization is also fit using the non-linear engine to assure an equal precision of convergence for all minimizations. This option is ideal when fitting data to a straight line where outliers are likely or suspected and a robust model is desired to lessen the impact of such outliers upon the overall fit.

 Fit Controls

  The non-linear fitting controls for this Robust Straight Line fitting option are set in the Curve Fit Preferences option. This is true for the linear and non-linear fitting controls for all fitting options, except the Peak, Transition, and Kinetics sets which contain their own separate configurations.

 Note that the minimization setting in the Curve-Fit Preferences is not used in this option since all of the robust minimizations are made.
